steveMr. Snively practiced as a commercial real estate and business lawyer for over 45 years, and retired as a partner from the international law firm Holland & Knight LLP on May 31, 2021. That retirement enables him to now pursue full-time his passion for promoting and facilitating trade with and economic investment in Namibia.

He has extensive experience representing developers, owners, managers and mortgage lenders in a variety of commercial real estate projects, including retail centers, high-rise office buildings, apartment complexes, warehouse and industrial properties, residential developments, commercial condominiums and other diverse and unique businesses, such as regional aquariums, a downtown Las Vegas casino and an international blimp company. His practice included the representation of owners and property managers of retail properties across the country, including the negotiation and drafting of leases for urban projects, neighborhood shopping centers, big-box stores, restaurants and outparcels. As a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), he wrote articles and made numerous presentations at its annual Shopping Center Law Conferences. Mr. Snively's work with commercial real estate developers, investors and owners encompassed the negotiation and drafting of acquisition and development documents (purchase and sale agreements, development agreements, construction contracts, declarations of covenants etc.); documents for loans (acquisition, construction and refinance), leases; and reciprocal easement agreements. It also included the issuance of title insurance, survey review, complex due diligence reviews, as well as the coordination of other lawyers and professionals on highly specialized matters, such as environmental contamination, contested land-use entitlements, formation of commercial condominiums, construction contract defaults, loan foreclosures and bankruptcies. He has significant experience on both sides of commercial loan transactions, including the representation of banks, insurance companies and other institutional lenders with the closing and negotiated workout of complex commercial real estate loans.
